100 Days of Gratitude - Day Fourteen - To Do Lists!
Monday, February 7, 2011 at 7:01PM Today I'm grateful for to do lists. With them I get so much more done.
In fact, a list of what needs to be done is the single most important thing I do every day.
I do my electronically using software (I use Mindjet MindManager), but paper, pen, dry erase board, anything works.
I think it's important to have a check mark next to your list, or cross things out - at the end of the day you can see what you've done and feel productive.
Zig Ziglar, one of my all time favorite motivational speakers and motivational authors (I have a copy of See You at the Top that he signed for me in 1977!) uses this analogy - we get more done the day before we leave on vacation than on any other day of the year. Mostly because we've made a list of what needs to be done before we leave.
It's true. I make one every day and I strongly suggest that you do too.
I did not make a list on Sunday, as I took the day off to shop and to go to a Super Bowl party. Hence, update my 100 days did not get done. It wasn't on my list. Today it was.
If you every find yourself not knowing what to do - start with making a list.
